The following fairs and livestock shows – organized by state where hosted – have announced that they will accept YQCA certification for the quality assurance requirement. This list is updated regularly, but always check directly with the fair or show for up-to-date information.

Participants in the MatSu and Copper River District 4-H and FFA Junior Market Livestock Auction must have a current YQCA certificate.

Arizona National Livestock Show
The Arizona National Livestock Show is requiring all junior livestock exhibitors to have completed a quality assurance training. We will accept YQCA or a state approved training (e.g. Texas validation).

The California Department of Food & Agriculture is requiring all youth livestock exhibitors showing at Fairs throughout California, to have completed the applicable YQCA program training. In order to show, each livestock exhibitor is required to have completed an approved YQCA training course, and must be able to provide proof of completion upon request by any member of the fair staff, or any representative from California Department of Food & Agriculture.

North Idaho State Fair Youth Stockshow and Sale
YQCA certification is required for youth 8 to 18 exhibiting at the Youth Stockshow and Sale.
Illinois
McLean, Livingston and Woodford Counties
McLean, Livingston and Woodford Counties are requiring YQCA at their 4-H Show.
Indiana
Indiana Fair exhibitors (4-H); all State Fair 4-H exhibitors
YQCA certification is required for all 4-H Members exhibiting beef cattle, dairy cattle, dairy goats, meat goats, sheep, swine, poultry, and rabbits at county-level fairs and/or State Fair. Youth have the option to complete an in-person Indiana 4-H Quality Livestock Care course OR an online Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) course.

The Arenac County 4-H/FFA Market Livestock Committee requires youth ages 8-20 to have YQCA certification in order to sell their projects in the auction during fair.

Tuscola County 4-H youth exhibiting either market feeder steers or fat steers are required to complete YQCA or BQA to sell in our auction. All other small livestock showman or large livestock showman are required to fulfill an educational requirement as well, and may use the YQCA training for that credit.

The Wisconsin State Fair requires YQCA-approved training. Many county fairs in Wisconsin also require YQCA. Check with your county fair about YQCA requirements.
